Fr. Tom Nguyen, OFM Cap.

Father Tom Nguyen is a young Capuchin friar residing in Detroit. Currently, he ministers at the Solanus Casey Center in Detroit as part of the pastoral staff. He helps with sacramental ministry, music ministry, and preaching.

Fr. Tom also started the ministry Tap Into Life. This ministry is a monthly event for young adults (18-35) to gather, reflect, and discuss theology from a Franciscan approach. He has also given retreats to young adults and youth. In addition, he participates in the Vietnamese Eucharistic youth movement THIẾU NHI THÁNH THỂ.

In 2006 he entered postulancy with the Capuchins, and he was ordained to the priesthood in April 2016. He graduated with an M. Div from Catholic Theological Union and a Master's in Church Music from Concordia University.

Fr. Tom brings his invigorating energy and enthusiasm into his preaching. He utilizes the human experience to look at how God’s grace is all around us. His message is of joy and hope grounded in the Franciscan perspective.
